How we decide what to post
We prefer featuring items that are:
- hand-made
- manufactured locally
- designed by Canadians
- sustainable
- made using local ingredients
Our Policies
- We do not charge you to feature your products. At some point, we may accept advertising, but our primary purpose is to share information.
- We reserve the right to decide which products to feature.
- We will not share or sell our email list, either our subscriber list or our makers list.
Who am I?
I am a writer based in British Columbia. After years of writing for big corporations, it was time to do something more meaningful, writing about something that I care about. (Okay, I do care that Alberta Health Services can track measles easier – and now COVID-19! – or that your plane is de-iced correctly. I’m just not passionate about it.) And so this side-gig was born.
People astound me with their ingenuity and creativity – and the courage to put themselves and their products out there.
We make so many beautiful, original, tasty, and useful things here in Canada. Why not share them with as many people as possible?
My hope is to amplify the voices of local makers of all kinds and encourage people to shop locally.
