You don’t want my money. Really?<\/h2>\n
Yeah, I get this a lot. It doesn’t cost you anything. I don’t want your money. It’s hard enough to make a living as a maker or small business owner.<\/p>\n
Eventually, I hope to have enough followers to make some money from advertising. There are organizations that want to reach a Canadian audience who might end up advertising here (think BC Tourism or Broadway Across Canada). I like this idea – I can make a few extra dollars promoting worthwhile enterprises without making them pay for it.<\/p>\n
What good does a one-time blog post do me?<\/h2>\n
If that was all that it was, I dunno. Probably not much.<\/p>\n
But each blog post will also appear on pages where people looking for your kind of product or in your location. Let’s say you make jewelry in Newfoundland and also sell online. Your product would appear on the Jewelry page, the Newfoundland page, and the Online Shops page.<\/p>\n
Once you’re featured on the blog, you’ll remain on the site indefinitely.<\/p>\n
Down the road – an online map and locator app<\/h2>\n
Because I want to make it easier for people to shop locally, I thought an app would be a good idea. That way, wherever you are in Canada, you can find places to shop for locally made goods. Hoping to have that available in about a year.<\/p>\n
